Who we are

The company was founded by Pietro Taliani in 1912 with collections of scrap iron and related resales to steel mills. With the premature death of Peter the reins were taken by the second son Giuseppe which managed to give it a great boost, so much so that during the Second World War it obtained the concession for the dismantling and recovery of gates and gratings in a vast area in Tuscany. The material was used by the "homeland" for the production of war items.

At the end of the war Giuseppe specialized in recovery of war wreckage and American vehicles , of which spare parts were used and resold given the unavailability of these items on the market. The territorial proximity of Piaggio then allowed for a succession of collaboration relationships such that up until the 1960s Taliani managed to win many tenders for the purchase of processing waste from the "Vespa". Giuseppe's commercial intuition allowed him to identify in such scraps a possibility of reuse for the production of hardware items pressed from the sheet metal itself.

Around 1950 Giuseppe felt the need to diversify the business thus starting the resale of steel products with the gradual assortment of the entire range of iron in bars, plates, pipes, beams and wire rod derivatives, so as to become the reference warehouse in Pisa and the Province. With the onset of lung disease, Giuseppe gradually left the leadership to his son Luigi who, despite his young age and the terrible flood of 1967, managed to consolidate and further expand the business by transferring it to the new industrial area of Gello di Pontedera.

In 1968 Taliani enters the world of wrought iron components which subsequently developed into direct branches and franchises in Italy and abroad. In the seventies begins the production of corrugated sheets and fence nets . In corrugated sheets by developing an important and unique patent in the production of completely smooth calendered sheets without "beating". Luigi's three sons join the company helping to expand the business into further sectors.

At the end of the 90s, Taliani decided to consolidate a sector that had become strategic: the stainless steel . The large stainless steel range available includes all commercial finishes and qualities and an assortment of components of over 12,000 items. Today the main office operates with two warehouses in Pontedera on an area of about 20,000 square meters and 12,000 square meters, in addition to the direct warehouses located in Calenzano (FI), Pisa and Lunata (LU).
